What is the minimum amount I can bid?

Modified on Sun, 24 Nov, 2024 at 9:38 AM

The minimum amount you can bid is based on the auction's bidding increments. For lots with no bids yet, you'll see the starting bid displayed—this is the minimum amount you must bid. For lots with existing bids, the next possible bid will be shown in the box. In both cases, the minimum amount to place a bid will be clearly indicated,

  • Example: no bids yet. Here, the lowest bid possible is €10, also called a starting bid.

  • Example with bids: Here, the next possible bid is €20 more than the current bid.

Keep in mind:

  • Keep in mind, as the bids get higher, the minimum bid increment might increase too. This helps make sure the auction moves quickly and the lot sells on time.
  • You can always bid more than the minimum bid increment, if you want to increase your chances of winning, or to avoid having to place a lot of smaller bids.
