How does bidding work on Auctim?

Modified on Thu, 23 Apr at 12:48 PM

Static bid

A static bid is a one-time bid that you enter yourself. This bid must be equal to or higher than the next valid bid amount shown on the lot page. If you are the highest bidder, your bid will be registered as the highest bid.

Automatic bid

With an automatic bid, you enter the maximum amount you are willing to bid. The system will then automatically place the next valid bid on your behalf. If you are outbid, the system will automatically increase your bid according to the correct bidding increments, until your maximum amount is reached.

Tracking your bids

Via ‘My bids’ in My Auctim, you can follow your bids at any time. You will also receive an email when you are outbid or when you are the highest bidder at the close of the auction.

Extension when bids are placed in the last minutes

If a lot has ten minutes or less remaining and a new bid is placed, the remaining time is automatically extended by five minutes. This extension remains active as long as bids are placed in the last ten minutes. This helps prevent abuse by automated bidding software.
